About

My relationship with computers and technology goes back further than most. I grew up building and using computers long before they were a household staple, and when the internet as we know it arrived in 1993 — browsers, websites, the whole thing — I taught myself how to build for it.

By the late 1990s, while earning my Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Southern Mississippi, my computer skills were already advanced enough that I was excused from the one basic computer class entirely. When a web reference class assigned a website build as part of our final grade — handed out near the end of the semester — I had mine done in a matter of days. A few classmates noticed and came looking for help. I assisted where I could, though I’ll admit the upper floors of the library became a convenient hiding place those last couple of days.

That was the beginning of a long relationship with building things online. Decades later I’m still at it, now through Weave Digital — helping small businesses and nonprofits build a professional presence without the stress or the agency price tag.

When I’m not building or maintaining websites, you’ll find me outside with a camera in hand. Photography is a passion that takes me everywhere from wildlife and nature to sporting events and night skies. Besides photography, I also enjoy watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Mississippi State University Bulldogs, and the Georgia Bulldogs. I also volunteer with the Friends of Noxubee Refuge and am the webmaster. I am also the current webmaster for the MS Library Association.
